Our Mission Statement

The mission of One Talent, Inc. is to advance the gifts and talents of our leaders of tomorrow.

One Talent provides opportunities for girls to: recognize their abilities, enhance their technology skills and awareness, participate in educational and career development activities and experimental learning experiences (inclusive of cultural and social opportunities). The girls have a platform to showcase their talents (inclusive of their oral and written skills).

One Talent, Inc. encourages its participants to reach for higher heights, take the road less traveled, and dare to go above and beyond expectations. It is the goal of One Talent, Inc. to instill as many positive influences as possible to help our youth channel their gifts and talents in the right direction.

It is the goal of One Talent, Inc. to instill as many positive influences as possible to help our youth channel their gifts and talents in the right direction.

Education

One Talent, Inc. is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit youth development program designed to advance the gifts and talents of young girls founded in 2008 by mother and daughter, Jo Ann Allen and Kamilah Allen Burrow, who saw a need for a free program in their community to guide, inspire, and encourage young girls; a community where the youth are at-risk and surrounded by adversity.

One Talent, Inc. aims to prepare our youth to be well rounded adults by teaching important life skills while developing their God-given gifts and talents. We offer a support system for the older girls who are preparing for graduation, and provide opportunities for them to volunteer and be a mentor to the younger girls.

Mentorship

Headquartered in College Park, GA, One Talent, Inc. meets on the first and third Saturdays of each month with the exception of holiday weekends, and the summer months (June and July).

We employ three fundamentals that serve as the driving force for the services offered:

  • Activities Initiatives – Identifying the gifts and talents

  • Mentoring Services – Development of the gifts and talents

  • Community Advancement and Involvement – Sharing the gifts and talents with the world
